MLK Breakfast 2024
The Annual LeMoyne-Owen College Martin Luther King Jr. Alumni Prayer Breakfast originally scheduled for January 15, 2024, unfortunately was postponed as a result of inclement weather. The event was rescheduled and held February 19th at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis.
The Prayer Breakfast was a total success!
Our newly elected Mayor Paul Young was present and stated as he was referencing a need for the Youth of Our City to see positive role models in action, said "you can't be what you can't see". The Memphians Club Inc. were certainly visible, two of our members were recognized for their work in the community, and with the alumni.
President of The Memphians Club Inc., who is a member of The LeMoyne-Owen Alumni and past member of The LeMoyne-Owen Staff having served as the Athletics Director, and Brother Robert Newman, who is described by the alumni as a man willing to take on any challenge, and provide assistance whenever and wherever needed.

Mrs Myra Newman accepted the T. R. McLemore Distinguished Award for her husband Mr. Robert Newman who was not able to attend due to health concerns.
Clint Jackson received the Alumnus of the Year Award.
